A detailed description of Jaw Crushers
Jaw Crusher is one of main equipment of stone crushing, is ideally suitable for crushing all kinds of ores and crushing the big size materials, the highest anti-pressure strength of crushed material is 320 Mpa,having two types: primary crushing and secondary crushing.jaw crusher has been sold to 75 countries, the price and quality of jaw crusher is widely recognized, we always stick to be your satisfying partner.
A jaw or toggle crusher consists of a set of vertical jaws, one jaw being fixed and the other being moved back and forth relative to it by a cam or pitman mechanism. The jaws are farther apart at the top than at the bottom, forming a tapered chute so that the material is crushed progressively smaller and smaller as it travels downward until it is small enough to escape from the bottom opening. The movement of the jaw can be quite small, since complete crushing is not performed in one stroke. The inertia required to crush the material is provided by a weighted flywheel that moves a shaft creating an eccentric motion that causes the closing of the gap.
Single and double toggle jaw crushers are constructed of heavy duty fabricated plate frames with reinforcing ribs throughout. The crushers components are of high strength design to accept high power draw. Manganese steel is used for both fixed and movable jaw faces. Heavy flywheels allow crushing peaks on tough materials. Double Toggle jaw crushers may feature hydraulic toggle adjusting mechanisms.
Jaw crushers should be fed a consistent rate of feed that will result in the crushing chamber being kept full at all times. This will result in more stone-on-stone crushing, reducing the wear on the (jaw die) manganese wear plates, creating a more cubical product, and result in more even wear over the length of the jaw die
Generally all material smaller than the discharge gap should be removed (scalped) prior to being fed into the jaw crusher. This will increase the tons per hour of total production by the plant, and reduce wear on the jaw dies. It will also reduce fines production and increase cubical product.
A jaw crusher should not be sized to the maximum size rock that might be fed to the plant, but a size that will handle 95-98% of the material that might be fed to the jaw. Buying to the maximum size of rock that might be fed the jaw will result in buying a jaw crusher that will be under-utilized, difficult to keep choke-fed, cost more than necessary, and have a much higher operating cost. It will cost less to install grizzly bars over the feed hopper to remove the oversize rocks than to buy an over-sized jaw crusher. They can then be manually broken, sold as rip-rap or erosion control or landscaping boulders.
Jaw crushers are typically used as primary crushers, or the first step in the process of reducing rock. They crush primarily by using compression. The rock is dropped between two rigid pieces of metal, one of which then moves inwards towards the rock, and the rock is crushed because it has a lower breaking point than the opposing metal piece.
There are two basic types of jaw crushers, the overhead eccentric style (shown above), and the double-toggle style. Which will work best for a given operation depends upon several factors.
The Crushing form of this series Jaw Crusher is driven-squeezing style. Its working principle is: Motor drives belt and belt pulley, makes moving jaw up and down through eccentric shaft. When the moving jaw is up, the angle between lining plate and moving jaw becomes large, and this will push moving jaw plate close to the fixed jaw plate. During this process, the material is crushed and ground, thus the crushing will be done. When the moving jaw is down, the angle between lining plate and moving jaw becomes small, the moving jaw plate will leave the fixed jaw plate on account of the effect of pulling bar and spring, and then the crushed material will be discharged from the lower opening of the crushing room. With the motor continuously rotating and the material periodically crushed and discharged by the crusher, the mass production can be realized.
